Masters Research Project
Probing and characterizing the molecular interaction of Graphene Oxide-Protein Conjugates. Investigation of the major non-covalent interactions that drive the stability of peptide/protein-GO complexes modulation external conditions like pH, temperature and studying the stability of secondary structure of protein. Functionality assay was also done to understand the potential of the conjugate as a graphene-based nano-biomaterials suitable for drug delivery.

Khorana Fellowship for Summer Research (IUSSTF)
Recapitulation of experimental structure of Chlorophyll bound WSCP Protein designing so[ware ProtCAD. This involved defining amino acid residues and chlorophyll for the protein molecule, defining Vander Waals atom types, connectivity between atoms, calculating atomic charges on each atom and adding degrees of freedom. Optimal alignments produced by conformational sampling were compared to the experimental crystal structure of WSCP bound Chlorophyll.

Engineering a Conditional expression Construct and Express PTG Protein in Neuronal Cells. By molecular cloning, a construct was made with an inducible promoter (under the Ecdyson Repressible System) along with the PTG (Protein Targeting to Glycogen) gene inserted in the MCS of a vector. Techniques used involved ligation, restriction digestion, PCR, and immunoblotting. The construct thus made could be used in cells to synthesize glycogen and thus analyze its role in cell-cycle
